Forshmak Chopped Herring Spread

2 herring fillets

3 green apples, cored and peeled

1 small onion

2 slices of bread

1 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp vinegar

2 eggs, hard-boiled

  1. Soak bread slices in water for several minutes. Squeeze well.
  2. In a food processor process together the herring, apples, onion, and bread.
  3. Transfer into a serving dish. Add oil and vinegar and mix thoroughly.
  4. With a fork, crush the eggs and sprinkle on top.
